The Art of Eileen Boyd
To The Beach

Biography

In her native Newfoundland Eileen studied Commercial Art and Visual Arts. She worked a few years in Ontario before moving to Nova Scotia to continue her fine art studies at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Graphite and Pastel portraits were a means of support throughout the college years and Eileen still does an occasional commission. Her other realist works feature a variety of materials including acrylic, watercolor, oils, and clay, but the subject of her painting remains the same; things that we see everyday but sometimes fail to notice.

Eileen's talent touches all aspects of her life. She sees the world not just as a place to exist but as a place that she must enhance with her artistic energy and creativity. Although she taught classes and workshops for many years Eileen now prefers to spend as much time as possible making art.

Her work can be found in corporate and private collections in Canada, U.S., the UK, and South Africa.

Eileen lives and works in Windermere near Berwick, Nova Scotia. Her studio / gallery is a converted Carriage House beside the 1870's farm house she shares with her husband Dwight. Being surrounded by orchards, rolling fields and woodlands makes the perfect setting for the artist and her work.

"... you don't have to change what you see, just the way you see it."
